ICON Grading & Construction is hiring an experienced heavy equipment operator for full-time field work across Eastern Jackson County and the greater Kansas City metro. Small crew, GPS-equipped, varied projects.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
2+ years running heavy equipment in excavation, grading, or site work
Multi-machine experience preferred
Can read grade and hit it right the first time
Runs pre-op checks, tracks fluid levels, keeps equipment in shape
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
WHAT THE WORK LOOKS LIKE
You'll cut foundations, grade commercial pads, run utility trenches, fix drainage problems, and dig ponds — sometimes all in the same week. The work doesn't sit still at ICON. Sites run across Eastern Jackson County, from residential lots to commercial projects and everything in between. KC clay keeps things honest. Wet ground after a rain tells you a lot about what you're actually working with, and operators here learn to read it fast.

Our Technology
ICON uses Topcon GPS machine control for grading work. If you've run it before, you already know what it does for a tight grade. If you're new to it but know your way around a machine, you’ll pick it up fast. You'll run excavators, dozers, skid steers, and graders. The more seats you're comfortable in, the more useful you are on a small crew.
